Located in the beautiful New England city of Armidale, Dental on Marsh is owned and operated by Dr Debbie Kung - a dentist with over 30 years of experience. We take pride in providing the highest standard of care in an understanding and relaxed environment. Serving Armidale and surrounding areas, our team will look after the dental needs of all members of your family.

To enable us to provide the best possible care for our patients we utilize the latest in technology and equipment. We are also committed to ongoing professional education to ensure we are up-to-date with the latest advances in patient care.

Our Team

Dr Debbie Kung

I moved to Australia from Hong Kong in 1981 and started Year 10 at Hornsby Girls High School in Sydney.  In 1984, I started my Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at University of Sydney and graduated in 1988.  Since graduation, I worked in Sydney for over 23 years before moving to Armidale in 2011.  I do not miss Sydney life and Armidale is now my home.  I have been serving the Armidale community since 2011 and will continue to do so for years to come.

My philosophy is very simple and that is to treat people with honesty and integrity.  All throughout my career, I have maintained the principle of putting patients’ best interests first.  I will diagnose your condition accurately, discuss treatment options, pros and cons and costs and help you make an informed decision.  You are an integral part of that decision making process.  I do not use a “one size fits all” approach to treatment - I assess your individual needs and advise accordingly.

As I enjoy all aspects of general dentistry, and interacting with people from all walks of life, our office environment is relaxed and friendly. I particularly enjoy applying my eye for detail to provide treatment to a high standard - whenever possible taking a conservative approach with the aim of maintaining as much natural tooth structure as possible.

Despite having over 30 years of experience, and knowing what treatment works and what does not, I regularly attend CPD courses to keep up to date with all the advances in dental treatment and technology. I am also very up to date with infection control requirements and adhere strictly to those guidelines.

Outside of work, I love travelling, snow skiing, cooking and eating.   I do exercise classes a few times a week to keep fit and stay strong.  I have a great affinity for animals, especially dogs, and have been involved in dog obedience training and instructing for many years.  I also like reading but I find it difficult to find enough time for that.

I am a local girl and enjoy living in this wonderful town.

After doing work experience in a dental surgery in my final year of school, I discovered working in the dental industry would be both rewarding and challenging and a career I wanted to pursue.

Over many, many years I have developed extensive experience in all roles within the dental practice, which I found very rewarding and challenging.  It has been a long career I have really enjoyed and wish to continue for many years.

One of the best parts of my job have been able to develop relationships with all patients and helping improve their oral health and smiles.

Outside of work I enjoy bush walking in all the national parks in the New England area, cooking, quilting, growing our own vegetables and spending time with family.

Bethanie Rice

I’ve lived here in Armidale my whole life and am living out my passion for rural health through studying medicine at UNE.

Apart from work and study, I love exploring the outdoors, horse riding, playing a little bit of piano, and my Navara (but not the long list of mechanical bills!).

I have been fortunate enough to have been part of this amazing team here at Dental on Marsh since opening and have loved how integrated into the community it has become.
